Getting to the Shannon Region
Ireland's Shannon Region is easily reached by sea and air. Shannon International Airport lies at the heart of the Region and, with direct flights from the UK, North America & Europe it is the easiest way to reach it.
The Region is approximately a one and a half hour drive from Cork ferry port and about a three hour drive from Rosslare, Dun Laoghaire and Dublin ferryports.
The Region has good rail connections and a network of uncrowded roads which are a pleasure for the motorist or cyclist. With the Shannon Region being so easy to reach the only difficulty you’ll have is drawing yourself away from it!
Air Access
Shannon Airport is the international gateway to the West of Ireland. You can be in the heart of rural Ireland within minutes of leaving the airport. It is approximately 25km equal distance from Limerick City and the town of Ennis and all of Ireland is easily accessible by an excellent road network and good public transport connections.
